What We’re Doing - Target Areas

Health Checks

In fall of 2017 over 30 RSVP Volunteers worked in collaboration with United Way of Monroe County, ProMedica Hospital System, Family Medical Center of Michigan and the Monroe County Health Department to bring Free and Low-Cost Health Screenings  to residents of the county.  Events held in Monroe and Carleton served nearly 260 individuals. 

2018 Spring Health Checks are scheduled for May 3rd in Bedford @ Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and May 10th in Dundee @ Dundee Assembly of God.

  • Aging in Place, Access to Care, Obesity and Food, and Disaster Services are designed to enable our volunteers to assist more fragile seniors and disabled people remain in their homes with increased health, security and safety. 
  • School Readiness and Success finds our volunteers helping children with math, reading and socialization skills through teacher support services, teaching, tutoring and mentoring in head start, primary settings and K-12.
  • Community Capacity Building engages RSVP volunteers helping in a wide range of other Community Priorities, all important, and in service to people.  RSVP volunteers provide the skills and manpower that enable local organizations to enhance the quality and scope of their services.
